Li Shan (b.1957) born in Beijing in 1957, is one of the main members of the "Anonymous Painting Club" in 1970s Beijing. In the early 1980s, she put down her paintbrush out of living pressure, but she restarted her painting career in 2005, largely inherited and developed the artistic concept of "Anonymous Painting Club". Never entered an art school, she  describes herself as an “outsider” and believes that art-making should follow the instinct. Her early works are based on outdoor sketches of Beijing suburb. Her framing and composition are not limited to objective reality, and her coloring focuses specially on the subject feelings, expressing a free and straightforward painting style. After resuming her paintbrushes, Li Shan began to travel around the world, she painted wherever she went, constantly adding to her portfolio with both adrift attitude and exquisite plan. 

Li Shan's works have been exhibited in institutions such as Asia Society Hong Kong Center, China Institute , National Art Museum of China, American Asia Society Art Museum in New York, Shanghai Zhengda Museum of Modern Art, Guangdong Museum of Art, etc.; main solo exhibitions include Art Basel in Hong Kong Exhibition of Li Shan's solo project (2019), Shanghai East Gallery "FuXing" (2017), Shanghai Coen Gallery "Li Shan: From the 1970s to the Present" (2014), etc.
