Xu Maomao (b.1979) Xu Maomao learned to paint under the guidance of her mother since she was a child. She began to receive formal examination-oriented art education until the second grade of high school. Xu Maomao's works are purely cartoon in form, but in content they reflect the current real life, including images and humanities. The flat-painted solid color was painted by her to create another plane space, and her relaxed and lively style broke the heaviness of modernization. Zebra, Guanyin, strawberry, and dots constitute Xu Mao's unique label, and these symbols appear repeatedly in her works. Xu Maomao feels that zebras have hidden fragility. People think that zebra stripes can bring safety. In fact, zebras are the most vulnerable after changing the environment. Under the stressful life rhythm of modern people, Xu Maomao chooses to be lively. What's more interesting is that her paintings are also wrapped in a touch of sadness and sentiment under the cartoon shell.
